Why else would it have reunited me with my supernatural bros, only to strike them — and many innocent bystanders — down on the day of my funeral? I stood and watched it happen, but instead of mourning, I laughed in the face of my enemies.
It seems my destiny is to break out of one prison, only to jump right into another. Then again, who would have thought Dubai would have a luxurious jail for supernaturals?
This was exciting the whole way through. I whipped through it. Despite being short, it possessed all the qualities of a well-written full length novel. Basically you get all the feels in a nicely timed bursts. Highly recommend this.
Read it in all of 2 sessions because it was so easy to get into. The first book felt complete and was satisfying, but the hints at wants to come for book 2 show that book 1 only touched the surface. The concept of assassin debt collectors is eerily plausibly. But I wonder what the bank gets off of killing people other than scaring people with very low debt to pay up and people to not getting credit cards in the future.
Best in the series. Villains just trying to protect their unwieldy teenage princess decide to become real villains by killing them. It's like the Breakfast Club for fairy tale villains.
